Vision

Our vision is to provide our school’s snack and breakfast program with fresh produce grown by the students. We also will donate produce to our local food bank.

Action

We have purchased and built a greenhouse, along with garden boxes and tiled up a garden. We started planting food in the winter in the classroom and then moved it out to the greenhouse in April. We planted the garden boxes and garden once the risk of frost was over with a variety of vegetables and fruit. The harvested vegetables will go to our school community and as well donated to our local food bank in town. Our town recently lost its store, so this produce will help those who don’t have the means to shop/purchase food elsewhere.

Reflection & Celebration

Watching our garden grow has been a huge accomplishment for the students. They also are proud that they are helping fill a void for our school and local community.
