Vision

Our vision was to beautify a small part of our school yard and create an environment that would attract pollinators such as butterflies and bees. Students also wanted to have a space to grow plants indoors during the colder months of the year.

Action

The Green Crew planted 16 native prairie grasses and wildflowers in a large garden box beneath our school sign. They have also purchased a hydroponic tower that will be used throughout the fall and winter months to grow herbs and other small plants indoors. These may be used by our school canteen in lunches.

Reflection & Celebration

The celebration of this action project will take place in the fall when students will be able to see their plants once they have grown and flowered, and have hopefully attracted a wider range of insect species to our schoolyard.
