Zero Kilometer Gardening
My class would like to produce food that travels no kilometers, can be grown year-round, adds no pesticides, fertilizers or herbicides to the environment and does not waste any water.
We built indoor vegetable gardens. Our gardens were experiments in hydroponics, vertical gardening, aquaponics and aeroponics.
Reflection & Celebration
While we did not produce a lot of food in the limited time we had for the semester, we learned a lot about problem solving, collaboration and the environment. We worked to design sustainably with minimal waste.
