Outdoor Classroom Improvement
Our vision for Canada is one where students and urban animals can co-exist.
We have used the grant money to purchase plants and shrubs that will make our outdoor classroom a more beautiful and welcoming place, as well as provide a source of food for urban animals like birds and squirrels and pollen for bees and insects. The students each proposed an idea and the class voted on which one they wanted to do, and they thought that this would have the biggest impact on their school community. The students are in charge of making the decisions on which plants to buy and where they will go in the classroom. This project is not yet complete as it’s been too wet to plant.
