Vision

Our vision for Canada is for everyone to use reusable bottles instead of single-use plastic water bottles to stop wasting too much plastic and being inefficient.

Action

On November 10th, our team attended LSF’s Youth Leadership Forum in Halifax. From the speakers and workshops, we learned about sustainability topics and skills such as aquatic pollution, plastic waste, entrepreneurship, and needs vs. wants. All this learning made us interested in pursuing Action Projects about exploring the possibility of banning plastic water bottles at our school in favour of reuseable bottles only. This is important to us and our school because we are wasting too much plastic and not being efficient enough. To fix these issues, some actions we could take are promoting school water bottles and educating students on the costs of plastic water bottle consumption and landfill. First we’ll need to talk to our principal and also learn more about the costs of implementing an anti-plastic water bottle campaign. We hope that by the end of the school year, our school will be producing less plastic waste and provide a reuseble water bottle for each staff and student.
