Sharing Water to Save Water
Vision
Our vision for Canada is for Canadians to think and act smart about water usage, which starts with being aware of the fact that we are running out of fresh water. This is important to us/our school community because all humans need water to survive, and if we don’t act consciously, we won’t be able to use our shared water resources forever.
Action
Based on attending the EcoLeague Youth Forum on October 26, 2017, we learned about sustainability topics and skills such as our lack of fresh water resources and the need to recycle. To fix these issues, some actions we could take are taking shorter showers (max. 4 minutes) and using reusable water bottles. We want to talk to our teachers, principal, mayor, and prime minister about how we can save the world by being more eco-friendly. We hope that by the end of the school year, we can make Burlington a blue community and take St. Anne’s “water bottle project” to the next level.
