ESS Pollinator Garden

Vision

To create a pollinator garden using only native species that can serve as not only a support for pollinators but also an educational resource for people learning about pollination.

Action

We removed the weeds and nonnative plants from the existing garden, added more soil, planted donated and purchased plants, mulched and then kept the garden watered while the plants were established. We are collaborating with a woodshop class to create an educational sign that will link to a Google doc with information about the various species in the garden, along with labels on each plant to educate the public on what they are.

Reflection & Celebration

We are very appreciative to LSF for the funding to carry out this project and are excited to see it grow!
