Food For Thought


Students will learn about the importance of fresh, organically grown vegetables, and the sustainability issues surrounding access to locally grown food. Students will also learn about the health benefits of a well balanced diet, and why vegetables are an important source of nutrition.


Students will assist in the planting and maintenance of our school’s learning garden project. We will expand our indoor grow lamp project so that we can try to grow vegetables indoors during the winter months. We will also plant vegetables in the outdoor area, and all of the produce will be used in our school’s Food Thought Morning Snack and Nutrition Education program.
