Vision

We have a vision of our school having a variety of small ecosystems that are promoted from raised beds for a butterfly garden, perennials and vegetable and small fruit growing. We would promote bird and animal habitats in our school yard, which is part of the Frontenac Arch biosphere where we have a through-way for animals travelling from Algonquin park to the Adirondacks with many Carolinian species at the furthest north in our area. This school yard would be a perfect space to teach students about our unique ecosystem, and the plants and animals that live in it.

Action

The action would look like the planting of local species of trees to encourage flora and fauna to take up residence in our recreated ecosystem in our large and open school yard. Also, planting some small fruit bearing bushes for human and animal consumption.
