Vision

Here at Bras d’Or Elementary, we are committed to helping the bees because the bees are so important to our own food supply. We are a P-5 school with 256 students and we decided to plant over 100 pollinating flowers to help the bees make honey and pollinate fruits and vegetables that we enjoy eating.

Action

We want to take our vision one step further by having our own designated greenhouse to grow flowers to transplant into our flower beds at school and grow vegetable plants that we can take home over the summer that will produce vegetables.

Reflection & Celebration

We have teamed up with local farmers and beekeepers who will work with us by teaching us valuable skills and lessons on how we can be successful in growing fruits and vegetables in our region and deal with all the current climate changes in our area.
