Lake Simcoe Public School Pollinator Garden
Vision
Our vision was to create a pollinator garden in our school to help the pollinator population that is struggling with climate change. Our school is also located in a developing area which has driven most pollinators out of their homes due to deforestation. Our goal is to create a space for pollinators to thrive and survive.
Action
We created a pollinator garden at our school to encourage success and growth amongst local pollinators. We researched native pollinator plants to put into our garden to help attract pollinators like birds, bees and butterflies and to help.
Reflection & Celebration
We are very proud of the hard work we have done at our school. We are celebrating our accomplishments by showing off our new pollinator garden to the school community at our BBQ night. We will also be handing out wildflower seeds to families to plant in their own backyards. Our hope is that we spread awareness of the decrease in pollinator population and encourage others to take action and support these species.
