Vision

Our vision for Canada is…
a place where language is appreciated for its cultural and social impact on diversity and respect. Cultural sustainability is crucial to positive relationships in Canada.

Action

We have started by displaying signs and room identifiers in English, French and Wolastaqey. We have invited First Nation drummers and signers to share their language and songs. We have also been sharing local children’s books written in both English and Wolastaqey.

Reflection & Celebration

This started out as a small project to show appreciation for FN language that has now grown into a school-wide initiative with Elder visits and diverse cultural activities.
