Planting and pollinators

To have students hatch pollinators, provide nesting boxes for endangered birds and grow plants to help the bee population.

Planted 120 bee borage plants, hatched 100 butterflies, and built 32 nesting boxes.

Reflection & Celebration

We have yet to release our butterflies, but at least three of our nesting boxes have hatched fledglings. We have many plants to go in the ground after the first full moon in June, and our butterflies are all in cocoons to be released next week.

Not all of our boxes are facing east and they were constructed about a week late in the season with many birds having already built their nests. We need to get the boxes out earlier next year!
