Vision

Our vision is to increase the number of native flowers, birds, bees and other wildlife that is essential to our ecosystem.

Action

We took a dirty, dumping ground of a garden and cleaned it up, planted pollinator friendly plants and added a bee house. This work will hopefully carry on next year with more habitats, plants and other gardens.

Reflection & Celebration

Students toiled in the dirt together. What stood out to me was not necessarily what we did for the environment but how the students bonded over this. They ended up having deeply personal conversations with each other and created friendships that otherwise would not have happened. The connection to the earth helped some of our students who had excessive absence stay in school and work to better our community.
