Vision

Our goal was to bring the garden back better than before. Our garden was used to grow various types of vegetables and herbs and was used by the entire school (K-8), as well as surrounding community members. We were able to harvest our vegetables and herbs and include them in our class cooking program to create healthy vegetarian meals and we hope to be able to continue this for years to come.

Action

Our Action Project was to rebuild our school garden. This plan included rebuilding each of our raised garden beds to make them taller and more sturdy than our previous beds, ripping out all the overgrowth that had taken over the garden over two shut-down springs and summers, and bringing in wood chips to surround the beds, as well as using other funds to purchase outdoor benches so that classes can come and sit and do full lessons or just hang out in the garden area.
