School Garden
Vision
Our school garden has been neglected over the past years and needed some good care. We were looking to revamp our raised garden beds and add new, good, quality soil into our existing gardens.
Action
We needed to clean up all of the broken stones that were around the garden, which required them to dig out all of the retaining wall. Then pull all of the weeds and long grass that has overgrown in the existing gardens. Finally, we rebuilt the broken raised bed to help retain the soil and add new soil to 3 of our gardens.
Reflection & Celebration
The students loved working in the garden! They found it relaxing and stress relieving to pull out the weeds and get dirty. The students were excited to see the garden getting fixed and asked questions about the garden and ECO club coming back. They were excited to find decomposers in the soil and to learn about the Native species that were here before us.
