What’s in Our Water?
Vision
Students will become aware of issues surrounding water and waste management and then share their knowledge with the community in and outside of the schools.
Action
Students will participate in the Yellow Fish Road Project, where yellow fish are painted near storm drains, and they will hand out informational pamphlets to houses in the neighbourhood where the fish are being painted.
A small school yard re-greening project that is also aimed at building school spirit and community awareness of our school, is planned for the front area of our school. The students will plan, purchase material, construct, fill and plant flowers in a large planted box that will boast the school’s abbreviated name.
Students will host a school wide awareness campaign in the school via these projects and a school assembly. Community officials will be invited to present along with students.
